Compensation Range: $115,000 - $135,000 Base + 15% Bonus (Depending on Experience)
This a remote position but we'd like this person to be based out of the Raleigh-Durham, NC area.

Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for oversight of general accounting, accounts receivable/payable review, revenue recognition, payroll, external audit coordination, general ledger reconciliation and financial consolidation and reporting. Additionally, this role requires cross-department collaboration, strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a rapidly evolving tech environment. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities
General Accounting Functions: Oversees the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, revenue recognition, and taxes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Prepare variance analysis and coordinate with FP&A in developing KPI’s, forecasting, and insights.
Month-End & Year-End Closing: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes. Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Payroll: Review payroll for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Intercompany/Consolidation: Oversee and ensure compliance with intercompany accounting policies, including reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances across all entities.
Revenue Recognition: Ensure revenue recognition compliance in accordance with ASC 606. Partner with operations and sales teams to assess contract terms and their financial implications.
Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, corporate policies, and internal controls. Coordinate with external auditors, provide requested information and act as primary point of contact.
Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax consultants to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including sales tax, corporate income tax, and other relevant taxes. Manages analysis and compliance for taxes including federal, state, corporate, and sales & use taxes.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing feedback and support for professional development.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency in accounting operations and support scalable growth. Establishes or improves upon formal written policies.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with various teams to ensure financial data is integrated and accurate across all departments.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA license
6+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, ideally within a technology or AI company
Public accounting experience preferred
Thorough knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting principles
Revenue recognition & ASC 606 expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the organization
Able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred
